M83- masters of all things epic and emotional. Highly experienced in movie trailer soundtracks that will inexplicably cause you to see that movie anyways, regardless of its actual quality.

On August 25, M83’s label, Mute Records will shoot into the earth’s atmosphere their first three albums. By the way these three albums are probably brand-spankin-new to most of you, as they have never been available on any regular platform like iTunes or Spotify.

Now, you all get to watch a brand-spankin-new music vid to Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun in celebration of this monumental event. WATCH NOW OR REGRET.

Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody? Are You Sure?

tumblr_myqr73be1J1r1rfmmo1_500

Here’s a mixtape by a certain Blalock. The songs are a compilation of a lot of greats of recent times including Coma Cinema, Ra Ra Riot, and Perfume Genius. The songs are inspired by, but not taken directly from, the short film “Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody?” written by Miranda July and directed by Miguel Arteta. The film was shot on a budget of $150 and shows actor John C. Reilly approaching random passerby-ers and asking the question of the film title itself, “Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody?” The mixtape has been a personal favorite for a long while now, and I quite enjoy the short clips of John C Reilly quotes from the film.

The film and mixtape both hit hard in the feels as the strangers answer with an assortment of think-provoking responses.

I couldn’t seem to find the mixtape anywhere but the original site I found it on 3 years ago, so here you all go. click the link and scroll down to find a neat little cassette tape/mp3 player and list of the songs/respective times in the mix.

Too much good

Omg omg omg so many good things to report and it all has to do with this one movie. I know I am no movie critic/blogger but Karen O from band Yeah Yeah Yeahs (one of my all time favorites), has just written a song for Spike Jonze’s new movie called Her. Therefore, I must tell you all about it. The song has just been released by Warner Bros and is called The Moon Song. I am already in love with the song and movie and can’t help to type this blog post like a giddy 8 year old girl because there are so many good things to come out of this movie. It’s about a man who falls in love with his artificially intelligent home operating system (wtf, HOT!) and it stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara, and Olivia Wilde, and looks riveting as ****. Here is the song by Karen O followed by the trailer for the new movie.

GO NUTS.
